DON BOSCO TECHNICAL INSTITUTE-MAKATI: BECOMING THE NEW BENCHMARK OF TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION IN TEACHING AND LEARNING

Posted February 27, 2012

Since September 2011, six groups of administrators and faculty from different schools had visited and benchmarked with Don Bosco Technical Institute-Makati City particularly on the integration of technology in teaching and learning. Last school year, more than Through DIWA Learning Systems Inc., many schools have expressed interest in seeing how Don Bosco Technical Institute-Makati City has integrated fully technology in teaching and e-learning particularly GENYO. The faculty members of the visiting schools were toured around the campus with the management team of the Grade School and High School Departments assisting the visitors. They also observed classes particularly in the e-learning laboratories. The Grade School TLE faculty of Ateneo De Manila University-Manila visited the technical shops and inquired on the Work Education program of the school. The Filipino teachers of Marist School-Marikina observed classes with the teachers using technology in teaching. Mr. Lito Tenerife, the High School Principal of Don Bosco Technical Institute-Makati City shared to the administrators and faculty of Malate Catholic School, Manila Cathedral School, Ateneo de Cagayan University and Bulacan Ecumenical School how the institution started more than a decade ago in seriously making technology an integral part in learning. He highlighted the tedious yet inspiring process that the faculty went through just to realize the thrust of the institution

Being the new benchmark of other schools in the integration of technology in learning, Don Bosco Technical Institute-Makati City continues to set its eyes not only on sustaining what they have started and developed but also on innovations that will optimize technology in teaching and learning.
